Pablo Picasso
Sheet: 29 1/2 in x 24 1/2 in (75.1 cm x 62.1 cm)
Pablo Picasso Jacqueline Au Chapeau Noir (Jacqueline in Black Hat), 1962, is an exemplary linocut of Picasso’s final muse, Jacqueline Roque. Depicted in Picasso's signature style, her features are morphed and discombobulated, yet still recognizable as a woman’s face. Using only five colors, he creates an image of her that is indistinguishable; her eyes are shifted to the right, one enlarged and placed in the center of her face, the other a large black dot with cream highlights.
